water in fuel light came on today......

only got 5000 kilometres on her, must have had a bad load of fuel or probably all the freeze and thaw. i have been running stanadyne performance formula all along though. anyways, managed to crawl in there and open the drain valve, and kept it going for a while. light was only on for about 5 mins before i was able to park and drain it. I think i will change the fuel filter tomorrow.

Had the light come on a few times in my '99 - when I drove thru water or washed the underside. Found the plug came off the filter canister and I was shorting the the contacts on the plug with water. Guess what I'm saying is make sure the plug is on good.
