several years ago my water in fuel light started going on and off from time to time and flickering. I have checked the sensor (it's a 97) and it's connector/wiring and it is fine. I checked the bulb and the socket in the dash and no problems there. I resigned myself to the fact that I had a wiring harness short and removed the bulb. However, I'm now going to sell the truck (not trade it in) and feel that I should make an honest attempt to find the short. Should I go to the expense of purchasing a short detector? Is there a method I can employ using a standard DVM?
