During the install of AirDog, the stock fuel filter was bypassed. The two plugs were removed and taped to keep debris out. The filter housing drained. Yesterday the water in fuel light came on and I cannot figure out why? We bypassed this system, why would the light come on now? The first cold front of the season arrived yesterday but it shouldn't make any difference. The only thing I can think of is that I washed the engine compartment with no more pressure than a garden hose-----8 days ago!!?!

I know there is no water in fuel. The light is annoying. My friends and family have been bugging me to no end to get my truck "fixed" despite me trying to explain to them.

Any body got a suggestion besides removing the bulb?

Have you tried to unhook your batteries for 10 min and hooking them back up? That should clear it, but it might come back on.

Take the tape off the connection and make sure no water got in. If it did it could take a very long time to air dy with it taped up

water in tape

I am inclined to believe I got some water into the taped connection. That little red indicator and that chime are getting a bit annoying.
