My 2013 was wrecked back in January and ever since if you drive it in the rain the water in fuel light will come on. I know the water is causing a damage plug or bare wire to to complete a circuit and trigger the light. I know it isn't the fuel as I fill from a bulk tank at my house and fill 3 other trucks with not problems. When the truck sits overnight and dries out underneath the light goes out. I suspect it is on the harness on the front fuel filter somewhere as the starter was broken by pinion on the front axle when it broke. Is there any way to tell which filter is triggering the light?

I'd just look for bare wires on each filter sensor.

I had the same thing happen after changing my filter and putting too much tension on the WIF sensor wiring when changing the rear filter....started getting the warning light only when it rained or at the carwash. After looking I could see that that there was bare wire exposed right where the wires exit the sensor.

As it is an ohm's reading you need to check all connections very through for water ingress. Even a small crack in the plastic connector or a sligytly torn seal will give you the wrong alarm.
