Sorry if this is in the wrong place.
2009 Dodge Ram 2500 6.7L 70K miles
The connector that plugs into the water/fuel sensor is falling apart on my truck, does anyone know if there is a replacement pigtail available? I found some listings for 2009, but they all list it as a 5.9L connector and the clasp is different . Long story short, my WIF light cam on. I drained the filter on the side of road. The light went out, then back on about 10miles later. Got home pulled the filter after I got a sample & the fuel appeared to be clean. The sample I collected on the side of the road was no good, I used a gatorade bottle and was not able to clean it all the way out. I replaced the fuel filter & cleaned the inside of filter housing out, it was a little dirty to include the prongs on the sensor. The connector came apart, as in the rubber seal and a plastic retainer piece. I sprayed the connectors with contact cleaner & applied dielectric grease. When I pushed the connector back together, the other rubber seal blu out the back. The rubber is soft and appears to be damaged by fuel over the years.
I don't know for sure if I had water in the fuel or a sensor/connector issue or both. As of now, I pieced the connector back together, installed a new fuel filter & have no light on the dash. But to be honest I don't even know if the connector is making a good connection.
