Archived Water in fuel sensor

My water in fuel sensor is leaking, I have a new one on the way, for now is it okay for me to seal the spout end with high temp silicone? It seems to be leaking from one of those openings, near the wire hook up, which I don't have hooked up right now. There is also a hole across from this hook up, can I seal this too just to be safe? I'm wondering if there needs to be some sort of vent with this valve? Like is it okay to seal all openings down there? I also sealed the shaft part because that's where I thought it was coming from first. The part that slides up and down to release water. Thanks for any help... ... ... ...

Should be okay-anything that breaks loose will be trapped in filter anyway. Seal all the holes in drain area to be safe.
