I noticed today that the passenger side of my truck was wet. The insulation under the carpet was totally soaked. Best I can tell, it is leaking from under the dash, and I'm assuming it's condensation from the A/C. I removed the carpet, but how do I stop future leaks? Is their a drain hose? Thanks.

Although there are quite a few years difference between our trucks, '02--'95. I solved my drain problem with a 10" piece of clear aquarium drain tubing by slipping it over the bung that extended from the firewall and down to the frame and fastened it to where the brake line attached to the frame. Mine started leaking inside after i added a Kore suspension system. It raised the front end just enough so that the condensation would run back down the drain stub and back into the firewall and soak my passenger floor. The tubing was much easier and cheaper than removing the condenser housing(disassemble dash) to replace the firewall seal. Your problem may be similar. Good luck.

In addition to adding the tubing, you will probably have to apply some negative pressure (suck) to the tubing once it is installed. Dust and water make for a wonderful solution of crap that stops the drain hole and causes the water to overflow into the cab. So adding the tubing will help but you've got to get the gunk out of the drip pan or you will continue to have the problem.

May sound strange but, depending on how you park (nose slightly down hill) if you have had some rain lately, you may wish to check the gasket on your third brake light, on top and rear of the cab. Most folks just replace with silicon caulk and wipe excess off with alcohol before it sets up so as not to damage paint.

My 97 leaked around the windshield on the passenger side after being replaced. I took it back and the pressured washed the area, but it didn't leak again. They resealed the window anyway and it hasn't leaked since. Of course, it only leaked when it rained, so it wasn't much of an issue here in Nevada :-laf . I've noticed that the goop that is around the windshield tends to "droop" over time. Maybe yours left a tiny leak hole.

AMink,

Go to NAPA, get pre-formed hose, part #9808 and a ALL SS hose clamp. $ about $10. 5 minute job to install and a 1/4" socket set makes it very easy with at least a 12" ext. and maybe a swivel.

There may be debris in the A/C drain which is causing it to backup and overflow. Do a search on A/C drain for more info on cleaning out drain tube.
