My truck sat in my driveway, windows and doors closed tight... The recent 5 day storm passed through So California, I jumped in my truck Saturday morning and my carpet and floor mats were soaked, I had a tremendous amount of condensation all over the interior especially metal components ( the seat mounting brackets and bolts looked like they were sweating )

Under and behind the glove box was soaked, The back floor storage compartment ( Mega Cab ) had water in it... My Truck was a mess... I dropped it at my dealer and the Service writer tells me that a bunch of trucks are leaking... I am very concerned now because my truck is fully loaded w every electronic device available and it all has water condensation on it... So I have a rusting problem now as I dropped the truck off I noticed surface rust on seat tracks and a metal support bar behind the glove box...

Anyone else have this Problem?

My truck is a 2008 Laramie Mega 4x4 w 12800 miles on it...

Clearance lights were a common source of leaks, do a search here. Does yours have them?

If so, I thought it was only limited to the earlier 3rd gens, but maybe it's still an issue.

Your truck is awful new to have a leak. I had also heard of the third brake light seal leaking. The cab clearance lights are the most common leak.

No Cab Clearance Lights on my truck... I go back to the dealer on Thursday to see what is Up... Thanks guys... I am gonna put a de-humidifier in the truck to try and dry it out...

Mine leak too however I thought it was clearance lights too but resealed them the 3 months later started leaking again so im not so sure its the clearance in my case good luck let us know what it was... .

Well, since there are no clearance lights, I would have to guess it's the 3rd brake light. That would explain water in the back, but the glove box is somewhat baffling. Bad windshield seal? But then you'd probably see excess fogging on the windshield itself, etc. I dunno.

Might also be AC/Heater evap leaking into the cab??

I see that you have the Sirus also. Does it have the pick-up on the top of the cab?(small black semi-square). I looked at mine this week while in the bed and the seal looked like it had a split at the BACK of it. I too live in Cal and we had alot of rain where I live. I, thank God, haven't had any leaks... ... yet

Water on both sides, front and rear? Water follows the path of least resistance, and can't flow uphill. So the places the water ended up are the first clues. The only way to properly diagnose is to de-trim the interior and start running water starting low and working high until you see where the water is entering.

If its in the rear storage compartments it sounds like it came in through the back and then followed the carpet forward as the truck sits rear high it flow water forward. Sirius antenna, third brake light or rear window would be my guess. Hope the dealer can get you new carpet they always seem to smell afterwards IMO. Plus the padding is really tough to dry.

My truck had the same problem and traced the problem to my 3rd Brake light. Seal the brake light and it should be resolved.

well I recv'd my truck from the dealer... They said the rear window frame was leaking... While they were at it they sealed the third brake light assembly and the Satellite Ant... They replaced the seat tracks and brackets due to rust and tested the front windshield for leaks. Hopefully it is resolved as another big series of storms are comin!!! Thanks Guys for your comments, keep your eyes open for leaks!!!

OK... I recvd my truck from the dealer. . , The third Brake Light, the Satelite and the rear window frame were checked... It appears the Rear Window was the problem... they sealed all three however... The Dealer also relplace my seat tracks and bolts, it seems the amount of rust could been a future safety problem... . The truck doesnt smell moldy yet, but I am sure that is coming as soon as the tempratures climb...
