I seem to have an unusual problem. I have a water leak under the passenger side back seat. There is no rhyme or reason for this. When it sits out in the rain (I guess) it seems to collect water in the space under the back seat. I have checked the rear glass and can’t find any leak. I have checked the inside back of the cab and it is dry. It just gets wet under the passenger side rear seat. There is a hole under the cab with some sort of thing sticking out of it when you look under the truck but it is always dry when I check it. I am at a loss for what to check next.

Anyone else have a problem similar to this???

Thanks in advance for your time

Not sure if the rear cargo/brake light is the same setup as the 2nd gen's but the lens are notorious for leaking around the seal and it shows up in the strangest places. I sealed mine with clear silicone 5 years ago and haven't had a problem since.

The proper way to find a water leak is to use a small stream of water from the hose and start low. S-l-o-w-l-y work your way up until the water starts to appear inside. Also check one area (right rear corner, then left rear corner etc. ) at a time. I have seen too many technicians just spray the entire vehicle and then you have no idea where it came from. Pulling some interior trim in the area of the leak will give you a better idea of where it's coming from. Work slow and smart, and you will find it.

Digging this one up...

I just noticed the same leak in my pickup this afternoon. I always leave the folding load floor down and it seems this water has been under there for some time. Mold is begining to grow and the roll of paper towels I had stored under the seat was literally dripping as I carried it into the house. Anybody come up with an answer to this question?

You guys may wish to search the 2G forums on this. Plenty of guys over there had problems with leaks. Perhaps some of their discussion may lead to a possible solution.
