Anyone have a water leak on a '96 body style ext cab? Seems to be coming in from drivers door between the door inner poly (plastic) liner and the door panel, and dripping onto the carpet right at the plastic door sill. At least that's where it was leaking before. Now I have to rip out the carpet to dry and prevent mould!! Want to know a perm. fix!!

Thanks.

I don't think its the third brake light, the floor boards are not wet past the driver's seat. Plus I replaced the 3rd b light seal not too long ago. As for the AC vent, maybee, but the foam/plastic heat insulation behind the pedals under the carpet is just barely wet at the lower edge.

If the 3rd brake light leaks the floor in the front will be wet, but the floor in the back will be dry. That is because the rear floor has what amounts to a rain gutter around it.

YES!! I had the exact same leak on my '94. After you remove the door panel glue the poly inner liner to the door just at the bottom edge of the large rectangular opening in the door. If water in the door gets between the metal and the poly liner at this point it can only escape at the bottom of the plastic door panel and drip onto the carpet. Only water that stays inside the door cavity can get out the drains in the bottom of the door which are on the outside of the door gasket.

Thanks to all, I found the leaks after reading some of the old archives. The back window is leaking and the door poly needs to be resealed.

Cheers Chris
