Ok so i have a puddle of water that shows up behind the front passenger side tire. I can't figure it out. It's hard to see where it's coming from but it leaks above the control arms cause they are always wet. in the summer I assumed that it was AC something-or-other and in the winter it looks like it may be from the rainwater collecting somewhere and slowly leaking out. What's weird is that it is always there (like any season), it hasn't rained for a while, still leaking, and there is no water missing from anywhere (radiator, windshield washer, etc. )

It hasn't caused any issues that I know of but it is weird.

Any idea what the heck it could be?

It *could* still be condensation from the air conditioner. The AC also runs when you use the defroster.

On the other hand... it doesn't smell like antifreeze, does it? Even some of the early 2001 trucks got the "53" block!

Nope it is definately just water. I have checked out the block to make sure it's not a "53" before I started bombing. I didn't know that the ac runs when the defroster is on. That makes it more likely that I think... I hope. :D

BINGO!!!! The AC compressor cycles while the defroster is on to condense the moisture out of the air rather than blowing it on the inside of your windshield. The water will then drain out of the drain tube on the firewall and drip down on your control arms. Same thing happens when running the AC in the summer.
