Howdy, new member and 1st post. The problem is water leaking into cab over door jam gasket at bottom of door on passenger side at the 1st screw on door threshold. Ive corected the a/c drain w/ 5/8 hose and clamp, thought that was culprit. Anyway I located leak after a rain then used the water hose to confirm.

Oh Yea, any ideas on how to stop the leak gasket does not have dirt in it or any tears,in the rubber. door seems to latch up tight on movement on hinges, open or closed.

Welcome to a great bunch of WRENCHEADS! I have seen a post about wet pass. side floor and a few members mentioned that the third brakelight is often the source. Do a search and find that one. Good luck.

Thanks Bill, and Statland. I think I may have cured the leak . Its the door jam seal some how it has shrunk about 1 inch and pulled away from the lip where it bends along the channel just below wind shild pillar. Ive also got the door panel off checking window seal. Will know if its fixed some its about to come a gully washer.

BIG GRIZZ,

Somewhere I read about pressurizing the cab by turning the fan on full. Then spray around suspect areas with soapy water or a commercial product like Snoop. I have not tried this myself but need to. Unlike your experiance, I could not locate my leaks by spraying water, pressurized or not. I do seem to notice less leakage when I keep Armor All on my door seals.

QRTRHRS,the Armor All on the door seals is a very good idea,in fact the service manual lists using silicone on the seals as routine maintenance every six months, the owners manual says nothing about it.
Pressurizing the cab is a good one also, you may want to seal at least one of the air exit vents at the bottom rear of the door opening before doing it,really hold the pressure in there.

Hey Guys I found the leak also pressurized cab. The door seal is allowing water to run down and into cab at floor board level I belive the silacone may work if not I will replace the gasket it is almost flush on the inside & out side part allowing water to enter even tried heating seal to aid in re-molding,Thanks again. I'll be replacing Injectors and glow plugs in a 1985 volkswagen Jetta tomarrow, even with two leaking Injectors it gets 44 MPG. Replaced water pump and timing belt in between water leak
