Any ideas on how to purge the water out of the cylinders without pulling the injectors??? I just got my newer style stage two controller. (New and inproved) Went out to the ole smoke maker to go to lunch and it would not crank over. The cylinders were hydro - locked, I heard a motor running and when I jumped out my windshield reservoir had emptied itself into the motor.

Now I will not be ready for the Weekend On The Edge Dyno/Drag Racing Competition...

I am open to any ideas. I am trying not to get too excited over this.

i think the best thing would be to call the manufacturer first.

let us know what you find out on why the pump stuck on.

i really didn't need to read about this

you guessed it,,,mines in the back of a brown truck as of yesterday!!

only thing I can think of is to pop the injectors out and crank it. Also if you have any type of cylinder leak down, the water will get past the rings and dillute the oil.

After reading this, I would consider an arming switch, just like you would use for nitrous. Always is a nice safety item. ;)

I am in the process of draining the crank, and taking the injectors out. I know that when I get her to fire up I will run it up to tempererature for a little while to make all the water evaporate out of the system.

The perge method with the injectors out is the way to go. If you don't have an arm switch then install one.

Why would you want it on all the time?

Jim

The system did have an arm switch. I just left it on. It was my mistake for wiring the switch to a none ignition controlled hot wire. But I have never had a problem with this kit. As for leaving it on... It is set to come on at 30 psi and full on at 44. I rarely see any psi's above 20 city driving. Thats why it is just left on.

Nothing against Matt, I really like his kit when it was working. It did everything it was supposed too.

Well as bad as it is, it could have been worse. It could have started and done real damage. Consider yourself luck. Either way it sucks.

Call Matt and let him know what happened. If there is a problem with the new variable controllers, he needs to know ASAP.

Is there a possibility that the wiring on the install may have been a little errored?

If you have not done so already, I would try to suck as much of the fluid out of the cylinders before you cranked it over. God bless the man who made the shop vac.

I pulled the injectors and use a turkey bastor with a little hose on the end to suck the water out of number four and six. After after I got most of the water out I bumped the starter a few times to blow the water out. I got a nice sower of washer fluid. That stuff does not taste very good!!!! After I got all the water out I spayed some fogging oil down each hole to ease the starting. Put it all back together and set the box to "kill" and she fired right up. I the proceeded down to the shop to do a oil change. Lets say I am not going to send this one off to Blackstone :D . After I got the oil changed I went for a pretty long drive to evaprate any water that might have been left. I checked all my wirring and everything looks good. I used solder and heatshrink for everything. No butt connectors or scotch locks on this truck!!!

The controller is still stuck in the full on position! Guess its going back...

(Where the heII is the spell check on this new vbulliten?????????)

Well you just turned into a R&D person for us. If there is a failure in the controller then leave it so Matt can see what the deal is for his knowledge and ours and fix it.

Jim

I see yer meth kit is for sale in the classifieds... Does that mean you cant return it/etc? I was interested in getting a system like this for my rig, but from what ive read, I think i`ll wait for the next gen variable controller to come out :)

hope yer truck comes back good

Twins are going in this weekend. Don't need water/meth to cool the exhaust anymore. I spoke with Matt and he said he is over-nighting a new stage 2 controller. I am going to send mine back for a little R & D. They are handling the problem very well.

A word of advise to anyone planning on installing one of these kits. They do work very well. I gained almost 4 pounds of boost and 34 RWHP on a mustang dyno. I would install the jets for the kit not in the intake horn, but in the pipe that connects the intercooler to the intake horn. That way if the system ever does malfunction it can be easy to correct the problem. The water would end up in the intercooler instead of the engine.

Everything is fine now, runs great... It was just a huge pain in my a$$ to pull the injectors and not put biggers ones back in... Especially before the drag and dyno thing this weekend.
