Hi everyone i have a 2007. 5 6. 7l dodge ram 3500. Has anyone tried to installed this on the 6. 7l the snow performance water methonal kit? i called them they told me 100hp at the rear wheels and 1-2mpg gain... just curious how the install went and how it really works. thanks any information would be great. .

I'll be putting Painless' Coldshot water/meth injection kit on my truck in a couple weeks.

I had there kit on my old 5. 9l and it worked great at adding top end power and lowering EGTs.

Don't like to inject cold water on an idea, but...

There is no guarantee that what works on the 5. 9 will be smart for the 6. 7.

Any modification which results in "lowering egts" calls for consideration of the EGTs the DPF needs for regen. Regarding passive regeneration, the issue is running fast enough to KEEP EGTs UP.

"Highway speed" (and the normally-accompanying temperatures) is required for passive regen, according to Cummins. If you lower your EGTs to where you have to run "FASTER than highway speeds" for regen, but you still drive at "only" normal highway speeds, ... it is possible that you will invite more frequent active regen because your now-lower egts may not keep the filter clean with passive regen.

More frequent "active" regen means more fuel "wasted" to accomplish the AR. This increased fuel-use may offset any supposed mileage gain from the modification.

This is a new ball game, and out-smarting Cummins on this one may not be easy.

Trying to gain horses (how many is enough?) at the possible cost of DPF problems calls for some careful thought. ;)

Have to wonder what Dodge warranty service would say about the idea.

I have thought about the regen issue, and I really doubt it will be an issue. I plan on setting my water to start injecting at 20psi or so with it coming full on at 30-35psi.

At these settings on my 5. 9l water only started spraying when i got on it hard and not much at normal highway speeds.

My opinion is that the addition of water/meth will help clean up the exhaust while lowering EGTs when I am running it hard. By lowering EGTs it will prob bring it down to a steady 1100-1200 if my 5. 9 is any guide. 1100-1200 should be fine for regen.

As far as warranty goes, the old saying "you play you may pay"
