I am thinking of installing a "SNOW PERFORMANCE" Water/Methonal Injection system to help reduce the EGT's when pulling. Has anyone had success in doing this with this system?

I have a Snow kit installed. I think the gains are solid. More hp and cooler egt's. When I have it turned on it makes my setup feel like it's on steroids. However, I rarely turn it on because the reservoir it comes with is so small. I just have not taken the time and energy to add a larger tank so that's my bad. Good product IMO.

Where did you mount the tank and the pump?

I used a 4. 5 Ft. Piece of 8" schedule 80 with a 8x8x2 and capped each end. It holds about 8 gallons. Put it in the front of the bed. Pump is under the rear seat by the jack, not the pump it came with, bought this one online, puts out 250+psi. Been running like that for 100K+ w no issues. Buy my methanol from Phoenix fuels in 15 gal. container mix it about 40%, no more. I get detonation at 50%. I run 2 nozzles, 1 each side after the 90 into the intake. I experimented with the location and found this worked best for me. You will not regret this addition.

Thanks for the information. I will certainly take your advice and see what I can do.

Im not going to do it yet but I was talking to the snow man :-laf and he said it would void my warranty but also if I did do it, it would actually help the emissions as it uses the fuel available and is cleaner.

The Max MPG system has a 7 Gal tank and a pump to mount on the tank and hoses. . he says to mount the nozzles in the intake tube.

The neat thing about this system is the tidy small unit that mounts to the top of the steering column and had all the gauges in it so I wont have to get a triple pillar.

I'm curious how long at WOT will 1 gallon last? I'm thinking of the 7 gallon tank from Snow, but hate to give up bed space. Anyone make a tank that will fit alongside the frame rail.

Well the guy said a 7 gal tank towing would burn up in like 500-600 miles

He said that the tank is designed to be held down in the bed with the kit. If there was a way to make a bracket but still have like a gravity feed to the pump, then he said it would work. . problem then is how to fill it

I installed one of Snows stage 2 systems on my 666 IH 312ci pulling tractor. WORKS GREAT! Simple to install simple to set and runs flawlessly. EGT's are now manageable and the HP is a kick in the pants. GO FOR IT. IMHO

I finally commpleted the installation of the "Snow Performance" Water/Methanol system on my truck. I mounted the pump under the truck on the driver's side, just under the throttle pedal. I utilized the windhield washer reservoir as the fluid container. True it does not hold much fluid, but my intentions are to only use this when pulling long steep grade with full loaded vehicle. I will however keep a good supply of fluid on hand when using the truck.

Thanks for all the help on this project.

At Wide open flow a single 625 nozzle will flow just over 14 gallons an hour. So if you stay at MAX injection most the time you will know what to expect. This is why all our controllers are fully progressive. Most guys don't have the pump running at 100% for too long unless you are doing some serious "spirited" driving.

Let me know if you guys have any questions. I will try to check up in here often.

Thanks,

Grant

How do I know what size jet? The instructions say the jets are color coded, but mine were not.

Thanks

Look at the ends and you will see the difference. I really don't think you want to use the large one it is way to much unless you have big power. Use the small one in stage 1 and the medium one in stage 2. I have stage 1 come on at 8 psi with just the truck and 12 psi with the trailer. This has worked real well for me and my egt's never go above 1050. Stage 2 comes on at 25 psi. You will see at least a 100 degree drop in egt's. I have not been able to get more then 1200 degree's with stage 2 on. Before I put the Snow kit on I had to drive with right foot everytime I came to any kind of a hill. I run a 30 percent mix of water and methanol. Mix my own.

I Have had a system for six years now. I have switched from washer fluid to a mixture of 50% pure Methanol to 50% DI water. The difference is like night and day with power.

When you say that the difference is like night and day, are you referring to the system itself or going to the 50/50 mix? I have always used a 50/50 mix but I was considering using washer fluid (because I keep running out of methanol). Would like to know about your experience between the two mixes. Thanks.

just got back from a 500 miler,W/fiver in tow. I run twins,200 sticks, blue chip FMS,stage II water/Meth. I was running straight water. I was quite impressed on how the EGT`s started to climb, until the boost came on and the Water started to flow. I saw an honest 100* reduction.

Actually Winshield Fluid is not 30%, the highest is maybe 23%. Using pure methanol I found at $2. 00 a gallon mixed with DI water 50/50 yields lots of power, I won't go back! to that blue stuff!
