my water-n-fuel light flahses and sometimes stays on constantly. This happens even though I have done all the following: 1) taken the factory connector apart at the fuel filter (the light still flashes even though the sensor is no longer part of the circuit!) 2) cut off the connector on the factory wiring harness (thought it was shorting out inside the female connector) 3) jiggled the wiring harness under the hood while some one was sitting in the truck watching the light (no change in flash rate) 4) jiggled the wiring harness inside the truck (behind the dash) with no change in flash rate.

I have had a lot of rain here lately and have noticed that the problem is independent of weather.

I would really like to fix this instead of jury rigging it by removing the bulb and passing the problem on to the next owner, but I am out of ideas.

I would clean and put some dielectric grease in all the connectors and check all your ground points. The light operates through the computer so you should clean those connections as well.
