All you with FASS systems installed, what did you do with the Water n Fuel sensor in the original Fuel Filter canister??

FASS is in and working fine, we just really did not know the best thing to do with the fuel sensor(s) that were bypassed. I had the original fuel stuff left in place, just in case ever need to use again. So for now the fuel filter canister still has diesel in it. What will happen if I drain and plug everything up?

Thanks in advance.

I think you'll be okay if you drain the stock canister. It won't result in a WIF light...

P. S. I don't have a FASS... sorry, I know you wanted FASS owners.

rbattelle,

Thanks, I accept all educated guesses. They have to be better than mine. When we do the fuel pressure gauge I will drain the canister and see what happens. Can't do anything but throw codes I guess.

I have a FASS, and I just taped off the sensor plug when I removed the stock fuel filter set up. I checked my filter on the FASS for water a couple of days ago and there is nothing there for moisture. ;)

Wif

When I installed a FASS in my 01, I ran the fuel delivery hose to the inlet on the stock filter bowl. This allowed the use of the WIF sensor as well as a second filtration. I plumbed my gauge to the inlet of the injection pump. No issues using the OEM filter to injection pump plumbing, and I consistently observed 14. 5-15 PSI at idle and 12. 5-13 PSI at WOT.

Hope that helps.

I'm having one installed in the next couple of weeks. I'm leaving the stock filter bowl there as well. I'm just replacing the filter when I install the FASS, as I want the fuel heater and WIF light to still function.

Mundgyver-

This is an old thread, but I need to ask how did you plumb in your fuel returns that all met and were tied into the stock filter setup with banjo bolts etc after you removed the stock fuel filter setup?

Thanks!
