Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Water Pump "o" ring lubrication (is any required?)

I am replacing the water pump on my 97 CTD and would like to know if you are to put "O" ring lubricant on the "O" ring when you install it, or leave it dry?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Putting on dry I believe is the correct way at least that is the way I put mine on. No problems.
