Water pump R&R

Doin a water pump this weekend on my 04. 5 any recommendations from past experiences? Bought a Gates to start with.

Loosen to top of the fan shroud, it will collapse enough to allow the room to remove/install the pump throught the top of th engine compartment.

Pull the airbox out, then pull the tensioner pulley off, 1 bolt 1 nut and loosen a clamp.



Once that is done you have plenty of room to work on the pump.

Thanks guys for the help I didn't pull the shroud but pulled the airbox used a 1/2" breaker bar from underneath to pull back the tensioner and pulled the over the harmonic balancer slipped the belt off the water pump and pulled it back the rest went easy . Thanks Again

So simple to change. I have heard horror stories from ford and chevy guys. 8hrs, $800, and 8 skinned knuckles. I'll stick to my inline 6.

If you know and have the size and tools needed it should be able to be R&R'd in less than 15 minutes. Doesnt include coolant mess.
