My water temp gauge is not working. After the engine is warmed up well, it will barely move off cold and that takes 20 minuntes at least. It failed suddenly. I have grounded the lead off of the sending unit to try to get it to read but it made no difference at all. Any Ideas? HELP.
Thanks
John

Did you, by chance, check the connection at the driver's side rearmost corner of the head where the sensor is? I have changed a couple of these sensors due to them just dying suddenly and they were just fine. It's a bear to get at, and if you have a remote fuel filter, that's gotta come out before you even try. Removing the intake helps with the repair and diagnosis a bit.

I disconnected the wire from the sending unit and ran a jumper from the wiring harness side of that connection to ground and it didnt make any difference, I hope that is the correct way to test the sending unit.
Thanks
John

Deezul1 get a 12 volt test light, unhook the wire off the sender with the key on check guage. Then hook the light to ground and the guage should go the move. The tesat light should also light dim and pulse. If not the wire going to the guage is grounded some where between the guage and the sender.

Good luck!!!!
