Anybody know if replacing a fuel sending unit would fix and extremely wavy fuel gauge?

My last truck it wasn't as noticable or annoying  but however on my current truck a good tap of the brakes will send the needle flying if the tank is anything less than full.

A sending unit going bad can do a number of crazy things, including what you are describing. Replacing the sending unit should take care of it... .
