Anyone tuning into Daytona today?

I was looking up car wax on the internet and found something called a ceramic "wax". Has anyone had any experience with this new product, and any opinions on it vs a good wax ?

I use Collinite 476 paste (up to a year protection) or Collinite 845 Liquid (6 Months maybe more). To answer your question you may look around autogeek.net and autopia-carcare.com. There are a few people doing coatings, ceramic etc. on their forums. I am very happy with Collinite so no need for the other things. Another good thing to have around is optimum spray car wax which has the only patented UV protection on the market, I apply it over the Collinite every 3-5 months or may use it after a no-rinse optimum wash and wax which also contains car wax. Where I live I need all the protection I can get. I usually order from either of those two forums when they have 15.20.25% sales with free shipping over XX amount of dollars. Sometimes I will order off amazon with free shipping but no discount if I need it now and can't wait for a sale.

Tractorat,

Because of what I heard about it, I also wanted to look into ceramic coatings for my truck.

While reading ALOT of articles which purported to be a neutral and unbiased comparison between ceramic and wax vehicle coatings, but in all actuality were simply using the space to highly recommend ceramic coatings as a cure all, I FINALLY found this article, which IMO is in fact a neutral pro and con analysis between the two coatings and can help you decked uf it tis for your truck or not.

After reading the article, I decided ceramic citing was NOT for my truck.

I use Blackfire sealant from Autogeek. My current truck gets clay bar'd twice a year with a coat of Blackfire after. Probably not the best, but it works. I use my truck as a truck and I live in harsh summer environments; 100+ for 30 days or better during summer months.

I do the clay bar in the spring and late fall also. It's like I get a whole new vehicle each time!;)
