Ice is good stuff, goes on and off easy. I also use the Clay Bar once a year and my 06 looks better than the day I brought it home from the dealer... ... I love my truck!

I used a Mothers clay bar kit last year on my 12 year old paint. Was the first time I ever clay barred anything. Took 3 evenings and most of a 30 pack of Keystone light. You could really feel the difference. I'm sold on clay barring now at least every 10 or 12 years.

Boy, these Wax threads are almost as good as Oil threads, and nobodys got mad... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . yet.

3 evenings? I think it took me about 4 hours for my truck. I used the Meguiars Smooth Clay kit.

If you visit the various auto detailing sites, some of them will say to clay a vehicle at least once a year.

But yes, it does make a tremendous difference.

Maybe the 30 pack of Keystone had something to do with the length of time it took---if it was me I wouldn't be able to see the truck after a 30 pack :D:D:D

You may be right about the Keystone but you dont have to "see" the truck. You kind of do it by sense of "feel". :). Just kidding. . besides, that was over 3 evenings

Someone told me that either Mothers or Miguires has a larger clay bar in the kit. The Mothers has an 80 gram bar, dont know what Miguires has but I figure the bigger the better. The 80 gram did my truck just fine. They claim one kit will do 3 average cars. My kit was used up after doing the truck.

Sorry JCasper if this can be considered a "clay bar-Keystone" hijack.

Wax?

I use stuff from Goits Garage. But being disabled now it is realy tuff to spend all day washing and waxing. Thinking of just Line-Xing the whole truck. Then I wouldn't have to worry about it ever again

While I love the idea of Line-X on the entire truck, until then I use Harly wax (no, not that Harley) which I used to be able to buy off the shelf at my local parts house, but now have to order online from Harly Wax, Pure Brazilian Carnauba- Pauls Products Distr of Harley Wax. I will only use non-cleaner type wax. I wash and claybar first. Depending on how much time and energy I have, I might polish prior to the wax. I use various brands for the polish and clay- Mothers, Meguiars, 3M, DuPont.

On the glass I use No Streek Glass Polish which I get from my local Ace hardware (can also order thru the Ace website). I love it because it can be used in direct sunlight, and it leaves a nice wax-like protective film on the glass and clear plastic. Non-abrasive, easy to remove, great stuff.
