Don't laugh... the fleet industry is starting to look very strongly at fuel-efficient tire products ..... we need to also. Wonder how long it will be before we hear about them being available for our use?

Now for us... using BIG WIDE tires... . while we may like them... . does cost in fuel economy. Taller narrow tires are much better in this area... ...

Wide VS Skinny

I much prefer skinny tires for snow, ice and mountain driving. Fat tires have their place in sandy or muddy conditions. I have used skinny tires for many years and found that, other than looks, their performance, in my situation, is superior to the widely:D available alternatives. I dont use chains to drive into a situation. Chains are to get you out! I would really like a 7" wide tread with a 36" diameter, 'course, that would change my effective axle ratio and my speedometer/odometer calibration. But, with the proper tread design, rubber compound and deeper tread depth, they should be top performers under the above conditions. GregH

I'm with you, I've always prefered skinny tires... wish I could get something like a 285/85/17 for my truck.

on the 1st and 2nd gens, you can run a 255/85 for a 33 and 305/85 for a 36...

narrowest I can get for a 35 is 12. 50 :(

Same here, I wonder how many of us it would take to get a manufacture to make them.

Another vote for Pizza Cutters!

I've got BFG MT 35's on my Dodge, they perform well but cost me mileage. As soon as I can get the 3. 54's back under my Dodge it's getting the 235/85R16s again.

Interco made a 34-9. 50-16. 5 , but I'm sure it's getting the 16. 5 axe if it hasn't already and I don't know the weight rating. Would really love a 285/85/16 if we could get a good weight rating. The 285 fits the alloy wheels the best ,but would love a little more height with the 4. 10's. Course the higher we sit, the worse the aero.

I've been looking for the same thing for a while now, the interco 35x10. 50x17 looks good, but 370. 00 a piece is a lot of money for the way swampers wear(especially when you run six of them). Looks like I will go with the Toyo 285/75/17 MT for now.
