Do you know that piece of weatherstrip that runs all along the cowl directly beneath the wipers? Mine has been falling off since it was new, and I need to know what would be a good way to reattach it? Anyone have the same problem? What works? TIA!!

Everyone has the problem. Some get away with just crimping down the the metal in the seal with pliers for a tighter fit. I used contact cement because I had it. 3M trim adhesive from the auto parts would also work great.

Home center type stores for this?

I've seen 3M weather strip adhesive at Wal-Mart. Go to the touch-up paint area in the auto section. There usually is a small selection of auto body repair stuff from 3M (weather strip adhesive, double sided emblem adhesive tape, etc).

well, i am going thru this little problem. another fine design by dodge. what a pos. if you have access to a west marine, buy some 3M 5200. it won't come off after a little 5200.

Went shopping last night and picked up some clear liquid nails for less than 2 bucks. The bottle said plastic and vinyl, so it should work. I figured if it doesn't work, I'll try something else, but the 3M stuff was close to 9 dollars and I wasn't convinced it would work any better. For 2 bucks, I'll give this stuff a shot.

The weather was beautiful last night... cool and low humidity. Installed it... removed it... re-installed it after allowing it to get tacky (that's what the instructions said for best hold). This morning it's still attached and feels solid. I guess we'll see how it holds up from the heat, but so far I'm happy.

no, the 5200 WILL hold. that's why it's $7-10 per tube. you can buy it in smaller quantities. it is good. it keeps the marine industry together. ask anyone who owns a boat in florida saltwater!! ( i do)... ...
