**** Website crash - on backup server ****

Well folks, we're in disaster recovery stage here. The primary file server mysql server crashed in a big way in the last 30 minutes or so. I just found out by a user calling me (I had set down my laptop for about an hour and a half to watch a movie). We are running right now on our backup server which is an exact replica of our primary one and everything should be current on it with the exception of the classifieds, travel companion, and reader's rigs. They backup every mornting at 5:30 am. I have taken them offline temporarily while I copy their data from the main server to have them completely up to date. I haven't had time to figure out what happened on the main server as of yet, I wanted to get the site back up ASAP. We shouldn't have lost any data in the forums at all. I'll post back here once everything is back up and running and will update once I figure out what happened on the main server. Email sent to any turbodieselregister.com address will not work at this time either so if you need to contact me do so either through the pm box or -- email address removed -- . Please only contact for emergencies until I get everything straightened out.

Well, something MAJOR league corrupted the database on the primary server. I spent hours trying to figure out what happened and found nothing. Evidentally this is one of those random errors that just "happens" once in a while. Foretunately we have planned for eventualities such as this and they worked flawlessly with no loss of data at all. I was able to switch over to the backup server and had the site back up within 2 minutes of knowing that it was down. I then checked out and tested the primary server and once I was happy everything was fine moved everything back to the primary server. In total the site was down for approximately 2 hours with an hour and a half of that between 3:00 am and 4:30 am when our usage is the lowest. We are now back on the primary file server and the backup server is again taking care of that role. Sorry for any inconvenience.
