Well for starters photobucket.com is down. Shouldn't the forum "time out" and stop looking for the image and continue to load the page and issue a placeholder (Easiest way I could guess a stab at it in simple terms)

The problem is photobucket. Their server is sometimes not responding, sometimes it is, sometimes it's slow, etc. I'm seeing that from my house if I go to the picture links directly. The problem is that the way that function works is a 5 second timeout on each picture. If the server doesn't respond in 5 seconds then you get the image server down message and it moves on to the next picture. If the server responds and the picture isn't found then you get the image link broken message. Sometimes photobucket right now is starting to send out the picture and then dying and that's causing the error that you got. I removed the picture that you have listed in the first post on this thread and loaded that page - only about 20% of the pictures loaded. I did a refresh and some of the pictures that loaded the 1st time didn't the 2nd and vice versa.

Normally you would just get a broken link picture (x) from your browser. The problem is that with this version of vB if a picture is too wide for the screen then the entire page will be formatted for that width - so if you had a picture that was 2048x1024 for example then the text for every post on that page would be twice as wide as a 1024x768 screen and you'd have to scroll back and forth to read them all. On the older version of vB only that individual post would format to the picture width. I had to use the getimagesize function in order to gauge the size of pictures and resize them if they were too wide. Because of that the server has to be able to get through to the server that has the image, etc, etc.

Photobucket is probably having problems today and hopefully they'll be back to normal soon and the problem your having will go away.
