PERRIS, Calif. -- Warrior Lifestyles: It’s no longer a weekend, it’s a lifestyle.
Casual weekend users and and desert rats alike were disappointed last year when they learned that toy hauler company Weekend Warrior had fallen victim to the failing economy and a perfect financial storm of sorts.
Out of these dark clouds came a ray of light in the form of Warrior Lifestyles. It’s not the same company, but it will provide even better quality product and the same innovation that RV owners have come to expect from the brand, officials with the new Warrior Lifestyles told RVeNEWS today.
Larry Broyles is the CEO of the new Warrior Lifestyles company operating out of Perris, Calif. Offering sales, parts and service for the now defunct Weekend Warrior Trailers brand, Warrior LIfestyles has positioned themselves to pick up the slack for the thousands of customers out there that still love their Warriors.
Not surprisingly, the new facility is not too far away from the old Weekend Warrior Trailers mainline facility that is now closed. Warrior LIfestyles plans on building trailers again soon as well, which could be breath of fresh air in an RV industry that is seeing doors close almost daily.
“It’s not a weekend anymore, it’s a lifestyle,” said Broyles, describing how the new company came into being, and how it will be diversified into several other industries including lifestyle products like clothing, outdoor gear, bedding, furniture, housewares for trailers and surprisingly, bottled water as well.
“We’ll be able to offer families that purchase our trailers full packages of our own gear. This stuff will match not only the units we sell, but the lifestyle our customers desire,” Broyles said. “Weekend Warrior was the innovator and the top toy hauler company in the industry, and we intend on exceeding that achievement and running with it into the future. ”
And with the upcoming build of these new units, a team had to be assembled that could manage the task. Larry was joined by Donny Day of Caldwell, Idaho, who cut his teeth on projects for Alpha and KIT and later went on to pioneer his own Extreme RV's company. Don will oversee production of the new luxury fifth wheels and travel trailers.
Mark Warmoth, who owned the now defunct Weekend Warrior, has helped with the design phase of the new brand of products. Said Broyles; "Mark's influence on this industry is indelible. It can be seen everywhere you look. You drive down any freeway in southern California and you're going to see warrior, warrior, some other trailer that looks just like a warrior, warrior, warrior, so on and so forth. His design was unmatched and highly imitated. "
The old Weekend Warrior company was liquidated last year. However, Broyles was able to launch Warrior LIfestyles RV Store just in time to purchase all the molds and most of the parts that were being sold off.
His intent: To service owners of Weekend Warriors, Rage’n and Extreme RV's travel trailers and toy haulers into the next few years.
“We’ll be able to provide warranty service to existing Warrior customers,” said Broyles, who will continue to ship parts to the old company’s 355 dealers. However, the firm will sell new products through a much smaller network of 10 dealerships and build the units at a rate of two per day as the products are ordered.
The company is also repurchasing 2009 models from banks and through liquidation auctions.
“As the economy winds up again, we expect heavy demand for our products,” said Broyles. The firm will introduce its 2011 Warrior Lifestyles "Legend" series toy haulers in July and will begin shipping them in October, he added. Only 225 units will be built, and each can be towed by a half-ton truck.
The firm will also create the "Classic" line of luxury fifth wheels as well as the "Sportsmaster" line of travel trailers to be introduced in early 2010.
