could someone tell me the max gvw that my truck could be registered? and how would I go about doing it in PA? I lowered it shortly after i bought the truck because I just use it to go back and forth to work, now that I am getting a gooseneck trailer I need to up it to be legal.

The GVW should be on the sticker on the driver's door jamb.
My understanding is that additions such my '97s Arrowcraft Dual Rear Wheel kit, or extra springs or air bags don't change the GVW. Sure, they increase the load bearing capability of the truck, but I think the GVW stays as stated by the manufacturer.

If someone can tell be otherwise, I'd be very happy.

Unless you get a sticker from the manufacturer stating the new GVWR, it stays the same. I upgraded our gooseneck horse trailer to 5000# axles... . it originally had 4000# axles. Gore Trailers, in North Carolina sent me a new manufacturer's sticker with the adjusted GVWR.

Greg... you want to change the title from a class 2 to a class 3 correct? I think you need to go through the DMV and have an amended plate and possibly a new title registered.

I believe this is the form you will need for the GVW correction.

Not sure if you will need this one, but it will allow you to register it up from its #8800 to #9000 GVW (maximum allowed in class 3). I don't know if you can use this in conjunction with the MV-41 or if it would have to be in a 2 step process.

In Florida you do at the Tag Agency. They usually ask me if Iwant to keep it the same. They used to ask me if I wanted to raise it. I raised my Mule to 9,999 pounds GVW the first year I got it but kept my Liner at 23,000 pounds even though I could of raised it to 25,999 pounds.

A PA inspection machanic must sign all forms. My AAA turn in my trailer with wrong year of mfg. and truck with wrong gvw title changes, both came back until I got a inspectors # & sig on forms.

I dont believe you can go higher that the oem gvw sticker in PA.
