The ABS and brake light have been on for a while now and recently they started to turn off for about 30 secs and during that time the brakes barely work and if you use them the truck pulls dramatically to the left. The lights will turn back on and then the brakes work normal again.

It seems that this only happens shortly when I first am driving then it will go away. I don't think this would be the rear sensor since no one has had symptoms like this if it goes out.

It seems like it would be a sensor problem with one of the right wheels causing them not to brake and the truck pull to the left? What else could it be?

pull to left

I agree the right sensor is probably at fault. When no signal is generated at that wheel the ABS assumes the wheel is sliding and releases fluid from that side leaving only the left brake working. Thus, the severe pull. Then when that doesn't cause a return of signal it flashes the lights to alert you there is a problem. It might be a dirty connection since the light does not stay on all the time. .

The lights have been on 99% of the time for the last few months with no side effects or problems. I thought it was the rear speed sensor so I hadn't got around to fixing it.

Is it possible a wheel sensor is causing the lights but didn't show symptoms until just now?
