Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) weird electrical problem

Well this is my problem I have a 99 1 ton Quad cab that had a cab fire i put a used wiring harness under the dash and every thing worked fine except the headlights well it turns out that harness was for a 2000 so i went to my dealer and got a new harness for my truck well i installed it and the head lights work but when i start it, it fires right up runs for like 10-20 seconds then dies i can do this like three times and then it wont fire up any more i also have power to the fog lights all the time even with the light switch off then i put the 2000 harness back in ad it fires right up so i was wondering if anybody out there had Any ideas thanks for Any response
