I have a '99 2500 diesel. The passenger side high beam burned out so I replaced the passenger and driver side bulb. Now the high beam indicator stays on all the time and my fog lights will not come on when the head lights are on. The low beams are now so dim you can't tell they are on and the high beams are about like the low beams used to be.

Any ideas? I seam to remember this happening the last time I changed bulbs but after "flicking" the high beam switch it corrected itself.

Check your grounds(remove, clean & reinstall). Grounds are very important to electrical happiness.
If that doesn't solve the problem then its the contacts inside the multifunction switch.
Do a search on "multifunction switch".

There was a gent on here last year that had installed the wrong bulbs.....similar symptoms.......

What number bulb did you purchase????

Thanks,

The ground check gets done today. I am certain i have the right bulbs but I will check again. thanks for your help I'll let you know.

I don't remember it all but the bulb he installed was wired different and the symptoms were similar to yours.

Found it!!

Bought 90004 bulbs. Looked at the boxes twice. After tracing wires all morning Sat. I pulled the bulbs. One of them was 90007.

I don't know how it happened but thanks for the advice.

Glad you found it. Ground is on a different pin for the 9007. Really freaks stuff out when used in a 9004 application.

Mike.
