Went to my buddy's house on Saturday. He lives on a hill and I needed to back off his stone driveway onto the lawn and then pull back out, so I put the truck in 4wd, backed onto his lawn, when I hit the brakes, the front wheel or wheels (I don't know if it was both) locked and slid a couple feet in the wet grass. Then I pulled forward and downhill on his stone driveway, put it back into 2wd and left. Now when I turn corners slow, I get a shimmy in the steering wheel while in the turn. The truck drives fine the rest of the time. I put it into 4wd and out a couple of times, it definitely not completely stuck in 4wd. But something isn't right. Are the hubs on this truck locked all the time, and shifting the tranver case shifter just locks the front driveshaft into the transfer case, or is there some kind of vacuum switch that locks the hubs.
I have not put the truck in the air yet, but I took a quick look at the wheels and didn't notice anything.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Nick
