while traveling slow 2 or 3rd gear, with exhaust brake on.

the engine can't decide if it want's to add throttle or turn on the exhaust brake. it switches between the two, until i dis-engage the exhaust brake. or shift to a lower gear.

is this a normal item, or is the computer having a fit?

thanks

The exhaust brake is RPM dependent (there are various threads here which detail this). More info is needed - are you coasting, giving it throttle? What RPM's are you turning? Are you in tow/haul mode?

more or less coasting between 20-30 mph when it happens. not using tow haul as the transmission shifts down too many gears, entering a turn.

i'm on a very curvy road. and i use the engine brake due to the grade changes and sharp turns after short straights. it's a 20 mile rollercoaster ride. the engine brake usually has disengaged due to rpm. then the hunting starts.

i've got so i just dis-engage the engine brake in that 1/2 mile section of road. and i haven't had any more issues.
