had dead pedal, checked codes, have the 0216. I'm hopefully going to install a fp gauge sometime this week. My main questions are:

1. Can anyone recommend a GOOD chrysler dealership somewhere in the sacramento, ca area?

2. What can be done for the future to make sure this thing doesn't die again after they replace it?

3. Is there a good LP replacement to go with that is better than a stock replacement? Thanks

Has anyone notice that a lot of 2002 have had VP44 problems? I have a late 2001. 5 and have my fingers crossed. When I saw this post, I said "Bet it is a 2002" and openned the post to see it was.

EKoster, if you have a fuel pressure gauge? Assuring that you have fuel pressure seem to be the number one thing to keep the VP alive.

My original injection pump died at 40k... I'm convinced from a plugged fuel filter earlier in its life. I added a pressure gauge when I replaced the injection pump... measuring the pressure AT THE PUMP. The truck now has over 120k on it without additional problems. The gauge has helped me catch a failing lift pump and a couple of more filters that were plugging. It was the best $35 I have spent in a LONG time!!!
