Only Obama supporters drive those things up here in Alaska... ... ... ... good cars but I couldn't live with the stigma attached to them... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... I actually have a wagon but it's hidden in the back yard under a tarp so no one can see it. There, I feel better now that I got that off my chest and no, I didn't vote for change.

Good one!:) Down here it's the Prius! Nice move Steve. You've got yourself a fun AWD worry-free vehicle. The new Forester is so much nicer inside and better looking. My ultra liberal nephew in Denver drives one of the older ones. He's 6'5" and loves to punish himself. He lived in France for five years and can't wait to return. Good riddance!

I don't associate any political party with any particular car... I've seen McCain/Obama stickers on every type of vehicle known to man, and there's not one singled out more than another. I think you're stretching thing a bit... there's an Obama sticker on my neighbor's 2007 CTD.

We got to drive it some... mileage is increasing dramatically (been a while since I've broken in a new gasser). Started at 19. 8mpg driving home to almost a constant 25mpg 900 miles later. Unlike the mileages reported in the Rams, the MPG computer in the Subaru is actually quite accurate... I hand calculated twice and both time it was within 0. 3mpg of the computer's reading.

We also got to try it in the snow... its weak point is tires (all seasons, need I say more). But it did fairly well otherwise... the VDC works well, and will force the thing to spin all four tires (without a limited slip). The only thing I noted was the fact the tires are not the greatest in snow, and have very little side-to-side hold on the white stuff... but in a straight line it pulls very good with little to no slip.

I'm going to dump the oil this week at around 1k miles... at least I'll feel like its a diesel since it'll be getting Rotella 5w40 synthetic...

And as a final thought... go drive one at night. This car has better headlights than any car/truck I have ever owned. Even compared to my 04. 5 (which should have an advantage due to height), the Forester is probably five times brighter on high beams.

Nice looking car... I like the looks of the Honda's, they are a very sleek looking car.

The only reason we didn't really look at anything besides a Subaru is because I've owned several and they have proven to be very reliable.
