I got my EZ today and ripped the box apart like a kid at C'Mass. Installed it and took a drive. Yes there is a power difference, however im not real happy with the amount of smoke I get??????? I never got any at all before with just my 275's. I thought there may be a bit of smoke but it turned out to be alot. More than Id like to see. Anyone else with my kind of set up see alot of smoke?

Have you modified your wastegate yet to take advantage of the "extra boost" available?

Also look at your instructions no the EZ, change the jumper to the middle setting, or even the least aggressive and it will cut down the smoke you are seeing. It will bring the fueling in at a "higher boost" level.

Sorry this is brief. . getting ready for work.

Try changing the fuel setting inside the EZ to #2... . It comes from PE on the most aggressive setting (#3). This will lower smoke but not limit max power.

Good luck,

Doug S.

LOL I didnt even know it had settings. . I looked like just a plain black box, it didnt have no switches or anything?? Told ya I couldnt get that thing on the truck fast enough #ad

Ok this is "Quick" leaving for work. . I'll reply at work... .

Take of the 2 allen screws on the end of the box opposite the wire loom. You'll see a jumper... . it has three positions... . remember where its "at" and then move it to the middle... see if you like it. . then move it all the way over. It will reduce your smoke output.

Tell me if this makes sense... I'll check it at work. In about an hour.

O ok, yea that makes sence. Ill check that out in the morning.

Sky, do you get alot of smoke right off the line? Are you nailing the throttle? Also, altitude can affect the amount of smoke. I have found if you ease into it off the line, then go to the floor, it doesn't smoke, because boost has built up. I tried #2 once, didn't like the lag, so I went back to #3, and I adjusted my driving style. I can get a little or no smoke when being careful with the go pedal. Or, I can get big clouds if I hammer it from a no boost condition.
Turn on the Hot PE, and look out. #3 can create a black wall.

Heh of course im nailing it off the line #ad
I did notice that too. But also if I nail it while in motion it will do the same is off the line, (huge cloud of black smoke). Oh well as long as it isnt hurting anything, I guess its not that big of a deal.

<font color=blue>Adjust it yet Sky? Whatcha think? Was looking for instructions with an EZ to post on here but I can't find any laying around right now. So if ya have any trouble or questions, post and I'll try to explain it again.

Here are the instructions. Sorry about the length.

Low Boost Fuel Adjustment
The Power Edge EZ Module features 3 different levels of low boost fueling. This allows one to eliminate excessive smoke that can occur at low turbo boost if other modifications are also installed. The Power Edge EZ Module is set default to level 3, the most responsive.
1. To change settings remove the front panel by using an allen wrench to remove the two screws.
2. Below the cover there are 3 jumper settings, a jumper will be positioned in the right most position if no setting change has been made.
3. This jumper can be removed and repositioned in either of the other two locations to achieve the desired response.

Setting 3 - Most responsive(For trucks without injectors or if smoke is not a concern)

Setting 2 - Decreased Low Boost Fueling(For trucks with moderate injectors)

Setting 1-2 Decreased Low Boost Fueling(For trucks with large injectors)

hope this helps #ad

I just got back from a trip, and Im in Love with my EZ. I towed about 4k over Crater Lake summit and didnt even have to take it out of overdrive, and still had power to left. Smoke or no smoke this thing is awesome. If you tow this is a must have. According to above it sounds like maby number 2 setting is what i should run at. But now i am use to the power. Wonder how different it is?
