Rotella T Synthetic on sale again

We were riding around yesterday with the windows open and the wife said that the exhaust seemed louder and different that it did before. With a innocent look on my face I asked before what? She said before you put those "thingies" (injectors) in. Im told her that was what it was, then held my breath coz we were accelerating at this time. She looked at me funny and I thought, here it comes, the truck and money question. But she said she liked it, sounded good!! That was the end of it!!! I feel VERY lucky!!

You are v--e--r--y lucky Mtngoat. There is very little I can put over on my wife. Everything I do she counts $$$$. She is not as bad as when we first got married in 73 but she still:-{}

I've told the story about my wife of 33+ years. We are members of the Texas Boomers, an RVing group associated with iRV2.

A little background. Ed, a fellow Texas Boomers member, had just bought a new 29' 5th wheel and a new Ford Powerstroke to pull it. We tow a 36' 5th wheel that's probably 3000 lbs heavier and 6-8" taller than Ed's.

After a recent outing, I told Sandy that I had to get bigger injectors and a new South Bend clutch for the truck. Naturally, her first question was, "Why?" I told her, "Well, I noticed that Ed was catching up with us on some of the hills on the way home. I need to change injectors to get more HP so that can't happen, and I need the new clutch to take the added HP. "

Her response was, "Oh, okay. That makes sense. "

Yes, I'm a lucky man! ;) :D

Good job Rusty, I also am very lucky. My wife don't care as long as I stay ahead of the Powerstroke's that are pulling trailers.

Get right down to it, we are probably all lucky guys. I honestly don't know where I would be if I didnt have my wife to keep me sane and well grounded!

Go figure, I think my wife must be tone deaf. She never noticed when I took the silencer ring out or straight piped the exhaust. However she went nuts after driving the truck with the carter pusher pump. She came back and said, "what's that noise coming from under the seat?" It really drove her nuts when the grid heaters were cycling. :D I said that's the sound of insurance. It will keep you from walking one of these days. :D

I tell her everything is for the safety and well being of her and the children. You never know when you might need to outrun one of those scary Power Strokes. :-laf

My wife was OK with the mods until the Torqus Maximus ECM went in, it makes for a surging "romp romp romp" idle and actually tries to move. That bothered her in parking lots, she felt like it was trying to molest the other vehicles. Then the DD3's went in, the idle "romp" is a lot worse and I am guessing it got away from her or nearly so when she got on it a little too hard and scared her. She wanted them OUT LOL! Well, she got used to them fine and likes the way it runs now, and the SPA has recorded well over 30PSI and 1100* on the trip to the grocery store when she gets back. She insists she does not hotrod it, and I have not shown her the gauge records peaks LOL. Then the AFE cone filter (big one) went in. The silencer ring got blown out (long story) so the turbo really howls and whistles and even screams up in the mid 30's for boost, it annoys the heck out of me too, but I am not going to tell her it does. She is out in it right now or I could put the silencer ring back.

I want a muffler, a silencer ring, and about $1000 worth of sound suppressing material to line my cab with. I did not ask what she wants next... .....

what the heck is a torqus maximus ecm

mills, it is an uprate ECM from Mopar Performance/Cummins for the 98. 5-00 215 or 235 HP 5 and 6 speed trucks, bumps them to 245HP and 505 Ft/Lbs if I remember right.

It is not the most friendly thing to have on a truck with an automatic transmission as mine does... .....

Hehe, my fiance loves the Cummins... She told me I should straight pipe it again!! She loves the straight pipe sound! Her view is "the louder the better" and "it's sexy when it smokes" YEA BABY!!! Oo. :D Oo.

Well some of you guys got it pretty good but my wife doesn't ask what things cost, doesn't care what things cost and, best of all, doesn't drive my truck!

I've tried to get her behind the wheel but it hasn't happened yet.

My wife always likes it when I roll the passenger window down to hear the exhaust. Especially under an overpass. :D Gives her the justification she needs and has known that I am truly nuts!!!Oo.

Mine likes to ride in it, but won't drive it, says the duallys bother her, afraid she'll hit something with them. It will take some time.

My Grandmother never used to even want to touch my Grandpa's pickup if the travel trailer was behind it. Then, he bought his first CTD (mine now), and she drove it once while pulling the trailer (said she was extremely scared). Now, since he's on to his second one, she will drive half the time when pulling the travel trailer, and has even confessed to not realizing she was doing 80 MPH pulling hills with the thing... LOL... aren't cute ol' Grandma's wonderful?

Now, my girlfriend on the other hand... well, she used to ask why I spent all that money on my "stupid pickup. " Then, I finally got my transmission done and the Comp hooked up... I gave her a half-assed ride in it one night and she looked at me with eye's I've only seen a few times prior. :D  Now, I wonder what she'll do when I get home with the DD3's in... :p I'm not excited or nothin' ;)
