The better half made the deal last Saturday on a new Ecodiesel...2020 Limited crew cab. Air suspension, etc ,etc. So far so good. 200 miles and average of 20 mpg running -20 to -40 temps In 4x4. We’ll see how she hold up. Sure is comfortable and drives wonderful.

Going to sell my 05 CRD to make room.

Congrats on new truck! Wish you many happy trouble free miles. Be careful buying a white truck where it snows... you might not be able to see it when it snows:confused::p:D

We ended up buying a gasser 19 Ram 1500 for my DW, but we love it, especially the ride quality and quietness.

Cheers, Ron

Nice RAM 1500!!!!!
We had a 2005 Liberty Limited CRD in Bright Silver Metallic. Kinda miss the little thing, but the 2010 Grand Cherokee Limited HEMI that replaced it took the edge off fairly quickly.

Details on the CRD?

Just broke 1k miles and did a little towing with the wife's rig. It handled the 570 Bobcat pretty well. Pulled a steep hill with plenty of umph. So far I don't have anything to gripe about with this truck.

Did she get the 3.92 axle ratio? I find that mine tows 8,000 lb. enclosed trailer pretty well, and will often cruise in overdrive even on slight hills. Very impressive power and braking for a 1500 series truck. The only issue I find is the light weight of the chassis and suspension allows the trailer to sway the truck around in the lane if it's windy outside. I'm using the Timbren SES kit to avoid sag.

I found that my 2018 ED, with 3.92 gears, absolutely fell flat on its face towing anything over 5k pounds. Towing 8k? Get out of here. Mine was rated for 8600 pounds by FCA, but was pushing 265 degree oil temperature towing a 7k cargo trailer and 65-70mph on the flats. It also tried to kill me multiple times on sustained uphill grades, by violently de-rating itself with no warning or caution.
It would seem FCA fixed these issues on the new version of the ED, but I took my settlement and traded for a Cummins.

Yep, they did. The Gen 3 engine is night and day. I can pull my farm tractor in my enclosed trailer (that's the load that gets me to 8k) and cruise in overdrive. Trans stays at 180ish, oil stays below 230, and coolant stays below 220 regardless of how long and steep the hills are or how hot the weather is. This thing is a beast. I haven't been easy on it, and it's been a real champ.

They say the third time is a charm, and with all that FCA went through on the emissions scandal, my bet is that engineers made D*** sure that this time around they built this engine to last.
