i have questions about my pump wire. i had a bad lift pump & injection pump replaced a while back (11k ago) and just had another lift pump replaced (weak) and have gone 2k mi with no problems (other than the bucking/stumbling), do ya think i'll be ok with the wire tap?? second question, if my pump does go out is it the nicked wire that bosch see's that "voids" the warranty? i'm not concerned with my tech if ya know what i mean.

there isn't a way to follow the wire one direction or the other to do a less conspicuos "tap"? thanks for the input.

warrenty, you must be kidding right?

The nick in the wire, and the ATTENTION notice when they hook up their computers. It's like waving a huge red flag to get attention. There was a good explantion of why pumps fail on a site that Steve St. L had posted which from Chip at BlueChip Diesel. They also have a way that is less obvious to tap the wire, but after you hook up that wire, then there goes your warrenty because of the computer gives it away.

Hope this helps. I have not hooked up a wire... ... yet... . ;)

like i said i'm not concerned with my tech as we are friednds so when he hooks up the computer he's like shultz "he see's nothing", he knows whats on the truck. i guess the question is, is bosch the ones who come back with the "hey the wire's been tapped" deal after DC replaces the pump? the way i understood it bluechips injector pump test it also taps the pump wire, no?

Blue Chip has a new "cover plate" for the VP44 injection pump that has a thin barb on it, and taps the wire in an extremely inconspicuous place. Edge Products has a "needle" tap that is also very very easy on the wire...

Pumps are available for about $1200, I wouldn't let that keep me from having fun with my truck. Never mind the warranty.
