Well i went offroading in northern wisconsin this weekend at a huge offroading campground. I met a fellow tdr member rattlinram (i think thats what he said) Real smart guy, helped me get out of a sticky stiuation in the pit :D We were talking about our trucks for hours. it was awesome. Now back to the whole weekend. I took the beast offroading in stuff people with 44" boggers were ripping threw in a 2" lifted 35" tire Ram :) People were saying i was silly or just an idiot for taking my truck in the sticks but you only live once. I almost flipped the truck once and yes i was scared (#&#(*@, it was awesome though :eek: . Thing is the clear coat really took a beating from branches. theres about 15 pretty ugly looking clear coat scruffs and sratches on this thing right now. 1) how much have you guys paid to have your truck buffed? and 2) Just to let you all know... these trucks are awesome offroad, take yours out whenever you can :cool: and i want to move up to northern wisconsin because the girls actually knew my truck was 1) a new dodge and 2) had a cummins :eek: I like girls like that :) the girls here in chicago wouldnt even know if this thing was a diesel or gasser :(...

:confused: Didnt you mess your neck and back up a few months ago???? If the insurance adjuster sees this post, he will think twice about a medical pay off. . Id be careful on this one. :eek: :eek:

why would my neck and back even be brought up? I knew if i damaged the truck i wouldnt have insurance. Thats a given when your offroad. If you gonna play and something happens your going to pay.

Nick, when mine gets scratched(which is quite often ;) ) I use the 3M scratch remover followed up by Meguiars polish and reapply wax. Usually takes the scratches right away. If the scratch is too deep you might wnat to look into getting a professional to buff it out.

My last 4x4 was a super clean black ford bronco that I used to off road a lot in the hills in southern california (actually, it was slight trespassing on private property, so we'd do it at midnight when dark). I got tired of the scratches from the brush, so I started taking with me a small set of gardening sheers, and when the trail got narrow, I'd jump out of the truck and trim the branches prior to driving through them. My friends thought I was nuts, but it eliminated all the future scratches, plus the trails never looked so good.

Whenever I am in the Chi I always get looks for driving a big truck... my current stocker gets more looks than my ol' lifted powerstroke... Girls know what it is (Diesel, Dodge, One ton, whatever) and have gotten flagged down on lakeshore several times. Maybe it's the Texas tags, or that I am not a goofy kid worried about scratching my truck... or maybe it's the **** Mayor Daley sticker on my bumper and the gun rack in the window... who knows.

My advice? Forget about the scratches... quit *****ing about the girls in chicago, because they're pretty easy... realize diesels are NOT that good at offroading... buy a samurai as a toy... move on after giving thanks that you weren't a guy with clippers clearing a trail.

1. Smiley overload. :p

2. It's only new for a day.

3. What Doug said. I especially like the Mayor Daley bumper sticker. :-laf

4. Girls from Chicago have class. I should know, I married one. She likes my truck and encourages bombing.

5. I just tried NanoWax from Eagle One that seems to work pretty good.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Winner! Texas tags almost always rate a second look, and a good bit of envy...

Then you, my friend would probably be a fan of Captain Chicago. My college roomate created the comic to express his displeasure with the direction in which Chicago is moving. Captain Chicago is the son of a poor school janitor, and attended school with the original mayor Daley's son, always living in his shadow and never getting the recognition he deserved. The standard Captain Chicago stance has him holding a beer in one hand and a cigar in the other. Now, if I can just get `ol Kirby to put the Captain in a Cummins:

This whole thread is pure comedy, and this particular quote is great!

In Utah, we'd call it "Rocky Mountain Pinstriping" :D:D:D

Call it what you want. BTW, you can either have a great looking truck, or you can have fun off-roading. Or, if you want both, you can--if you have two trucks, like Doug said. And no, I'm not calling a Samurai a truck.

I had a '76 'Burban, lifted, beefed up transmission, and a 454. We'd go bunny huntin', and sometimes, instead of shooting them, I'd just tear off through the sage brush after them. It looked like hell and the rust cancer was terrible. But, that truck ran great, and a better 4x4 I've never owned (so much so that I'm not impressed with my truck off road). The heater, stereo, and cruise worked. What else is there? I miss that truck. I almost put a Cummins in it, but the rust was just getting too bad. Had to get rid of it :{

It just seemed that a few months back you seemed to almost be on your death bed and were wanting to sue the guy big time who smashed your truck and really hurt you. You said you couldnt move your neck or hardly get around without all the pain killers... . Thats all. Glad you had such a quick recovery. Ahhh yes, to be young again! :cool:

His neck healed just about as fast as his truck went from having 550+ HP to having a banginging system to having 18+"'s of lift to having 22's to... well I guess you get the point.
