Went with the kids to the NYIAS. Lots of new exciting wheels out there today, so I figured what the heck- we are all off from school and work.
Saw the new Ranger. Nice little truck. It has a chassis and solid rear axle on leafs! Remember when Ford painted their engines Ford Blue? The Ford chicks had their pants that color. Hmmm.
Range Rover had this way cool 2 door deal. I can't remember the last time I saw any passenger vehicle with a honest to gawd QUARTER PANEL!
A couple of Durango SRT's. One was up- loaded with Mopar goodies. My Daughter wouldn't get out of this white one. She thinks the Beats audio is better than the Alpine system in our '14. I couldn't get anywhere near the Hellcats or Demon display. I did sit in a B5 blue Scat Pak Charger. Dodge had awesome foot traffic.
On the other hand, Chrysler was stuffed down back behind the trucks in a corner with 3 pacificas and one 300. The brand is doomed and I think FCA is fine with that.
Finally saw the '19 Ram 1500. This silver one and a black "Kentucky Derby" trimmed one. Sorry. I can't warm up to the exterior. The cab is pretty nice.
They had a nice array of HD's including a 3500 CTD SRW, DRW, and a dump bodied 5500. By far the best truck display. Ford put on a nice show with rugged reps and a chalk lined OSB show floor. After all this, I'm still happy with my '04! It's paid off.
I made my impartial (yea right) girl sit in all 5 trucks, Tundra and Ridgeline included, and she declared Ram the winner!
I also checked out a passenger Benz Metris that was upfitted with captains chairs. If I needed a minivan, this. Would be the clear choice.
