Went to the racetrack tonight 15.02 @ 93

I had to drive 75 miles to get there and I only got one run in due to rain. There were about 180 vehicles running tonight.

With my first ever run in 4wd I ran a 15. 02 @ 93 mph. I'm not disappointed by any means but now I gotta go back and shoot for the 14s as I had planned.

For those who are wondering; I left the tailgate, spare tire, grille guard, 5th wheel plate and goose neck hitch intact and almost full of fuel (7/8). Not too shabby for 5500 ft.

Time to update my sig.

Kurt

On edit; The truck w/me weighs 6750 lbs and I DO NOT power shift.

Hey man good job. I am sure that you will hit your goal. Man I wish I could get a solid run without something going wrong. It would be nice to see a couple of first gens doing 14's maybe even a 13. Well by the time I get mine back together it will be raining so maybe next year. Keep up the good work.

Thats a good time you turned. The flat shifting will hurt the ET. But I don't blame you one bit for doing it.

What was your 60' time and reaction time?

One thing to remember is to stage shallow. Stage just enough to turn the second light on. With our tall tires you can roll out a good distance before you red light. :D

Stomp; Thanks for the info about the water/meth pump placement. I managed to squeeze it under my intake for the airbox and I still have room to access the jack and side marker bulb replacement.

Phillip; My 0-60 ft was poor @ 2. 20 sec. If nothing breaks I can easily try a harder launch. Reaction time was . 257 I guess . 000 is perfect. The guys car next to me was so loud I could'nt hear myself think. :)

It's tempting to remove some weight just to say I can run a mid 14 with my first gen. If I had the #2 power of someone like KTA Cummins, Old Smokey or you Stomp, plus the water/meth I'm sure 12s are possible.

Lets see here; grille guard, 5th wheel plate, goose neck, reciever, spare tire, tailgate, skid plate, jack w/tire wrench, sway bar. I think all that would probably add up to 4-500 lbs. and maybe knock off a half second.

Only two more Wedensdays and Bandimere will be closed for the season. hmmmm.

Have at 'er bud... . good for you... seems like the 1st gen guys are making more and more in-roads in the sport.

With guy's like Mike, Stomp and all the others the potential for these trucks has been advanced one heck of alot since the "early days"... . :D:D

... since the 'early' days???? Bob, when were those. . and how would yo- ... errr umm, nevermind... ... :D :D :-laf

I'm actually pretty impressed with that - my '71 Ranchero (mild 351C) only turned mid 15's at 90 MPH, and it was a much lighter vehicle. Moving a heavy, full-size 4X4 truck down the 1/4-mile in fifteen seconds is pretty darn good. :)

I'm more than a little curious about what mine will turn, but have too much going right now to hit the strip. That, and I can't afford to abuse my stuff too much right now... . :{
