Larryb after posting my last post, I took a look at your chinook pictures and lo and behold guess what I see on a trailer behind it!

Wouldn't it be nice if it were diesel!!!!!!and with a turbo!!!!!!

Larryb, I used to work at Petroworks( 2 years ), then moved out of own and had some more kids!!! My sami is set up similar to yours , s. p. o. a. lift, toy p. s. , lockers x2, 31x11. 50's, Thorley haeder, Rancho 90000"s with controller, 6 point cage, lots of Petroworks stuff, unfortunately no DIESEL!!!! I'm looking for a commuter diesel , already own 2 samurais, some day I willl find a deal on a vw p/u, until then I will just play with my other toys.

By the way I have a small samurai repair business, High country Samurai Service, about 25 miles N. E. of where Petroworks is,60 miles west of Ocotillo Wells off road recreation area. My friend that has the diesel samurai has availability to brand new VW tdi eingines for @ $3500. 00. I drool all the time whan I see his rig.

He is also a TDR member, and banks distributor.

Sams are pretty amazing as to what you can make them do. I've got the Calmini combo lift with shackle reverse. It's really too stiff but handles and drives well. The 1. 6na is not a whole lot stronger than the stock engine. A bit better down low and it sure sounds and smells better. :) Yea, there's a few guys selling new 1. 9TD industrial engines for about that price. I figure I've spent way too much money on mine already. Maybe someday a rebuildable 1. 9TD will fall in my lap. Course I need two, one for my PU also.

Now I just have to get all my diesels converted to run on used cooking oil. Then I can start a thread on the 12valve forum titled "350HP ON CHICKEN FAT!" :D :D

also have another friend that has a vw p/u that has a blown head gasket his wife told me me he would sell it for 500. 00, but when i talked to him he said he wasn't going to sell it, because it was paid for!!!!!!!!!!man what a bummer!!!!!!!!! another gentle man i know has 1 running pu and 2 jetta tdi's parked behind his house, again not for sale... man do i have bad luck , the last pu i saw for sale was 400. 00 but i didn't have the money and it needed an engine. some day i'll be in the right spot at the right time with the right amount of money.
