Today I want to install my gauge. Is there any tips for my 99 that I can get from someone. My fuel system is stock, and for right now intend to keep it that way. Hopefully my pressures will be good! I really do not want to do a liftpump job this weekend too!

Thanks

It is very easy. On my '99 it only took about 20 minutes. I used the Westach electric gauge. I put a grease gun hose on the sender & installed this on the post filter check port on the filter housing. This is the one near the center. Then I just wired it up & checked for leaks. Don't use any teflon sealer tape, I believe diesel disolves this stuff from what I've read.

Gotta warn you though, I am not thrilled by my Westach gauges. I like the way they look but the electric sending units are erratic. Sometimes mine works & sometimes it doesn't. I also installed a cheap NAPA mechanical gauge under the hood to make sure everything is fine.

Good luck, this is a very easy job.

Mine has worked well for 50,000 miles. One day my pressure went for 8 crusing to zero bad pump. Now it is max idle and 13+ crusing. Least I didn't get stuck.

Well... the weather did not cooperate this weekend. I will try to stop by the Autoparts store and get a grease gun hose. Probably need to get a grease gun first. I bet they do not sell this by itself.

How hard is it to get the wire through the firewall? Is there a place that is easier then most.

Do yourself a favor, go to geno's garage @ http://www.genosgarage.com/ or better yet, call them and let them know what you are doing. They will send you the grease gun hose and the sender clamp (mounting bracket) which will make installation much easier. Don't start the installation until you have everything to complete the job.

They even have instructions for getting the wire through the fire wall.

Also, run your power and ground wires separate from any other devices. My gauge reading gets affected by the lights and radio. When lights and radio are on, gauge reads 5psi higher.
