Ok, I give! I have installed a Westach electric gauge and hose kit from Genos and tonight I finished install of the 5 banjo bolts with the . 50 larger orfices. I hooked my rubber line up to the bottom of the fuel filter housing. My pressure is 15psi at idle and 11 at WOT. But every once in a while pressure will drop to zero then will come back to 15psi. Also if the gauge goes to zero and I stop and restart the truck it will come back up. What gives? I mounted the sending unit to the firewall. Is this a no, no? Could it be air in the lines. I replaced the banjo fitting with the schrader valve at the injection pump, is this okay. Help, I hate to trash my sending unit right off the bat.

Check your gauge ground. These electric gauges are pretty susceptible to a bad ground.

I originally had my ground attached pretty close to the relay that drive my aux backup lights. Whenever I would hit reverse, my gauge would drop. Ground moved, problem solved.

And check all your other connections, sounds sort of like a faulty connection. I doubt your sender is dead already. Mounted on the firewall with a snubber is better for it then having it mounted directly on the engine.

I would check your guage connections like AggieJustin said, but also check your connector going to the lift pump itself. It could be cutting out your lift pump intermittently driving down the road. When you pull the connector off and clean it then use dialectric grease on it to prevent future corrosion. I never had a problem with air in the line-it works its way out eventually, but mine never affected the readout on the guage.

Had the same problem with mine last week. It was the plug on the lift pump. I unplugged it cleaned it put dielectric grease on it and solved the problem. A constent 15psi idle, 10psi WOT, 13psi hwy 70 mph:D
