Did anyone out there purchase the Westach fuel Gauge for $65 from Geno's? I was just curious if it come with everything needed to get it up and running. (pressure sending unit, long enough wires etc. ) Did you have to purchase anything else to get it fully installed?

Also, will the donut gauge mount kit work with this gauge?

Thanks!

Steve

Westach Fuel Pressure Gauge

Steve,

Got my gauges from Geno's and installed them a week or so ago. The fuel pressure gauge only had the gauge, sender unit, and sender wires with it. You may have to lengthen the wires, depending on where you mount the sender. The gauge comes with a set of bulb covers to make the gauge light red, blue, or green. Also, Westach has changed the sender unit, and it's not the one they picture in their installation instructions. Just connect the two sender wires to it (it makes no difference which on goes where) and it will work.

You will need to decide where you will mount the sender. The easiest way is to purchase 1 tapped banjo bolt and 2 gaskets, from Geno's and mount the sender to the VP44 fuel inlet port. I suggest you get a three foot piece of fuel hose, with 1/8" fittings (1 male and 1 female), and mount the sender off of the injector pump to lessen vibration problems with the sender.

Don't know about the donut mount. I used a two hole full "a pillar" from Geno's for mounting.

Email me if you have questions.

Rick ;)

I got it. Works good. Everything is there except additional length of wire to run from sending unit to gauge inside the cab.

I just wedged mine in the left hand bottom corner of the windshield/ dash. It never moves.

Geno's fuel pressure gauge

I have a 95 Ram with Prime-Loc system. It has an inlet port and outlet port(both 1/8 NPT) or before and after the filter. Would this work with the setup from Geno's? I installed a mechanical gauge on the outlet port and it went crazy when I fired it up. ACtually, it was an oil pressure gauge. I guess they are different. Finally broke the needle off. It was 0-30 psi

Yes, it will mount to either port... The Westach gauge is electronic, with a sender... Most install it on the "post" filter port so they can tell how much pressure is going to injector. Also lets you know if the filter is getting plugged up.

I would mount the sender off of the filter due to engine vibration. I initially had my sender mounted directly to the inlet port of the VP44, but had problems with meter fluctuations. Changed the mounting to a remote location, using 1/4" fuel line and have not had any trouble since. ;)

96 your set up was OK but you what you need is a small office in the line near guage to stop surge of PSI will stay the same also a loop in the line will take some flux out ,just a thought . Ron in Louisville KY:eek:   :D
