3/10/05-Placed an online order with Genos for several items, including, but not limited to, one 16psi Westach fuel pressure gauge. Having ordered lotsa stuff from them in the past, I figured everything would be shipped out promptly in just a few days. 3/11/05-recieved the usaul email: "thank you for your order, blah blah blah... "

3/16/05-ish. NO merchandise, and no charge to my debit card either. I deicded to call and find out what was wrong. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone informed me that the gauge is on backorder, and the wouldn't have any more in until 3/21/05. I told him that that was fine, I was in no hurry.

3/24/05-STILL no charge to my debit card, no merchandise on the way. Decided to call again and find out what was wrong. The lady I spoke with stated again that the Westach gauge was still on backorder, and that it would be ANOTHER 7 DAYS before they had them in stock. I asked if they could substitute the 30-pounder instead and they don't have any of THOSE right now either! So, if any of you 24-valvers have been contemplating the purchase and istallation of this accessory, consider this to be a 'heads up'. You could be in for a long wait. And waiting sucks, IMHO!

***NOTE: Lest you think that I am dissing Genos in any way, shape or form, absolutely not! Like I said, I have ordered stuff from them in the past, and service has always been prompt and professional. The folks I have spoken too on the phone have been nothing short of curteous and helpful. I do not consider this to be their fault at all. Fingers need to be pointed at the MANUFACTURER if you ask me.

Only AFFORDABLE ELECTRIC fuel pressure gauge on the surface of the planet, and then you can't even get the god dam thing! #@$%! #@$%! #@$%! #@$%! #@$%! #@$%!

Take a deep breath and just wait, it has taken about a month to get my fuel pressure gage from Geno's Garage, I ordered the Di-pricol fuel pressure gauge and it to was on back order, as soon as they get it in stock they will ship it.

Mine will be here today, it is on the UPS truck as we speak.

Simmer down there Don..... I understand you are upset b/c you dont have your guage, but you even said that the westach is the only "affordable" one out there- I got my dakota digital guage for about 130 with the sending unit and i think that the nordskog is priced around there as well. Many like you (and me at times) want to spend no more than they absolutely have to, and if you want to save the $$, you may have to wait this little shortage out- just be glad that there is a lower priced alternative... ...

BTW- his last name is not dam... ... .....

My sending unit does not even look like the one in that thread. I have had excellent service from the Westach web site for my questions about gauges and which ones I should use. So far, I have had no problems with my Westach gauges so I can't comment on warrantee response. I bought the first one from Genos. It was a combo boost EGT. The others I bought directly from Westach.

Thats good, perhaps they came to the same conclusion that I did, that the design was hopelessly flawed and changed to a reliable design.

Hmmmmm, I'm waiting too... ... . everything else on the truck is leaking, why not the fuel too!!!

-Isn't that why we love these things.

I ordered mine directly from WESTACH (I live in northern california and go to Napa from time to time) and they told me up front it would be at least six weeks. I've had mine a year and no problems. I've flown several airplanes with Westach instruments and never had a problem. I've never heard a pilot complain about them either.

waiting

I order ALOT of guages from Genos I have customers that are mad at me. . I have been waiting for a long time. Robin at Genos said that Westach has the attitude of "go somewhere else for guages if you dont like it" IMO Westach is a small company that doesnt seen to care. I wish I had the $$ I would produce a decent fuel guage and run westach out. Or I wish I could find a COMPARABLE guage or source I would go some wheere else. NOY HAPPY WITH WESTACH :( :( :( :( :(

Well ya know what? That is EXACLTY what I did! I called again on 4/7/05 and the stupid thing is STILL on backorder! So I told Genos to cancel that part of the order and send me the other stuff, and I ordered a Holley Electric Fuel pressure gauge from JEGS. It was here in two days!!!

Hey, if I was providing goods/services, and I did not deliver in a timely manner, I know nobody would hesitate to bail on me!

I would expect this kind of attitude out of Wal Mart or Microsoft, but NOT from a small comany.

I bet if I called 'em up and told 'em I had a fleet of 1500 aircraft that needed all new instrumentation, it'd be an entirely different story!!!!!!!
