My westach trans temp guage has become more and more intermitent. It started a couple months after install... it would stop working on occaision and now it hardly works at all. I checked the wiring and it's all good. I don't know how to check the sending unit. I'm going to call westach tomorrow and ask them... maybe they'll send me a new one... any thoughts?

I should keep quiet but here is my story.

All three of my westech guages have failed. Fuel sender was leaking and the guage read 3-4 psi high all the time.

The boost just gave up.

I don't remember what it was with the Pyro. I didn't call them, so I guess I'm wrong to complain publicly.

FWIW, I've had Westach gauges for about 4. 5 years (approx 155K miles) and have had to replace the thermocoupler on the transmission gauge every 12-16 months. Just give them a call and they will send one no charge even when their records show it's been more than a year since they sent a replacement part before. The boost hose isn't that durable but they have sent that to me also free of charge. The boost hose will crack where it comes thru the rubber grommet in the fire wall. Flex and heat seems to be the culprit. Put some kind of protective hose around it where it goes thru the grommet and it may last longer. FP gauge has been problem free on this end. I like the EGT/boost combo gauge even w/ the hose issue which has only been a minor annoyance IMO.

Thanks for the info... too busy at work today but I'll call tomorrow. I'm really happy with the westach guages... I've flown many light aircraft over the years with them and had no problems and I really like the style. I'm going to stick with them and get a new sender... I'm sure that's the problem.
