TC/VB and Injector Question? Which way to go?

Got the Westech FP gauge today. I am very new to this world and just started thinking about this install. I know for my 98. 5 ISB that I will tap into the top test port with a 1/8"NPT. I also am going to mount the sender remotely. Here is the question. THE 1/8" NPT WILL HAVE A BARB ON THE OTHER SIDE. WHAT SIZE IS THE BARB TO BE (1/8, 1/4 ??) OR DOES IT MATTER. I just picked up the 1/8"NPT to barb fitting opening to a 1/4" and that is what got me to thinking I better check with some experts at TDR before I goof up.

Could someone get back to me ASAP with an answer. I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Bob Caldwell

Bob, I have never messed with the barbed fittings but do know that your sender should be 1/8 npt, what most are doing is buying a Rays banjo bolt that is tapped for 1/8 npt, then you can installe that post filter and put your sender right there or extend from the banjo with a new clean grease gun hose that is 1/8 npt and then the sender on that, some are also getting ss braided lines custom made. I know there are several ways to accomplish this task and I think it is just a matter of preference?

The barb size will be the same as the inside diameter of the hose that you use. I'm using 3/16" hose and use TWO 1/8 NPT to 3/16 tang adapters for each Westach sending unit.

Thanks all, especially Thomas,

Unless I hear anymore, it looks like it doesn't matter what size hose is used(3/16, 1/4) as long as it matches the barb coming from the 1/8"NPT that fits onto the fuel canister.

thanks again

Bob
